Forgot they were being blown this morning and there was slight panic / confusion when the house shook… my dad and some of his brothers worked here from the 70s through to the 90s. I always remember the kids Christmas parties they organised, was amazing.

Our family named the ones at Sheffield, Benson and Hedges.
I remember the cooling towers near Wigan being demolished like this when I was a kid something like 1989 so I’ll have been 15. They’d been part of the horizon in the area all throughout my childhood.

Heard and felt the explosion from my house. Pretty cool
