I am trying to calculate how much of heating cost will I incur monthly, but I am not able to get any definitive answer. Hilfe Leute.

  1. Ask one of your neighbours in a similar flat, what they are paying.

  2. Ask your landlord what the previous tenant paid. Easiest, fastest and most accurate estimate you can get.

  3. Since no one answered yet, this device doesn’t measure an absolute value, more or less just your share of the heating.

    Once the consumption of the whole building is determined, they tally up the readings of the individual meters, sum it up, and calculate your share of the consumption.

    Even if the gas meter or whatever fuel your building has was freely accessible (which it probably isn’t, not even for your landlord), you’d still need to know what you’re neighbors are using up in order to calculate your share.

    Yes, it’s kinda stupid and antiquate, something from a time where prices were stable and the extra cost and complexity of in time readings was not worth it.

    Now you basically have to try to embrace for the worst and save some money if possible.

    If it’s any consolation, you’re not alone in this boat, so one everyone starts defaulting on their back payments, some sort of solution will have to come up
