*From Bloomberg News reporter Philip Aldrick:*
Fifteen years of economic stagnation have left the typical UK household £8,300 ($10,550) poorer than peers in countries like France and Germany, according to a major report on the state of the nation.
The finding from the Resolution Foundation and the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics accompanied proposals to shake the UK out of its economic malaise by boosting growth, raising living standards and cutting inequality.
The researchers proposed sweeping measures to boost productivity by closing the wealth gap between Britain’s cities, championing services exports and increasing public investment.
I’m sure Brexit didn’t help..
Thank u brexit
And here I thought it’d be the other way around, since we usually don’t have any British pounds in Germany, at all!
Never trust the Tories / Tufton St.
Really. I always read: Germany is on its way down to sudden doom while all the others prosper. 🤔
Labour was in power for 2 of those years and the Tories for 13 so obviously this is all Labours fault because the Tories have ruled the nation in an absolutely impeccable manner and have made no mistakes what so ever in the past 13 years.
And what a coincidence, 15 years is about how long the latest streak of Tory governing has lasted.

Where are they getting their data from? British households are making more than the top EU countries.
Looks like house prices are the biggest problem for the UK not Brexit:
*private rental prices paid by tenants in the UK increased by 6.1% in the 12 months to October 2023 – representing the biggest annual percentage change since comparable records started in January 2016.*

Greedy landlords and investment firms buying up residential property are the biggest problem, they are draining the economy. Any wage increase just goes into their pockets because they will just increase the rents.
It’s not economic stagnation if the people making the decisions are continuing to balloon their personal wealth regardless. That’s a grift.
Right vs left is just aristocracy vs peasants, same as it’s always been. Funny how the so-called culture wars are always peasants vs peasants vs peasants.
Why do people vote Conservative?
All English workers get 5.5 paid weeks off every year, they’re doing just fine. Americans have 0 federally mandated time off for comparison.
Austerity 👍
BREXIT, had to have it. Why? And where is Boris Johnson today?
It’s ok though, they got their country back and in good hands with true British patriots like Reese-Mogg, braverman, lying Boris and billionaire sunak.
The typical UK household isn’t even British anymore, and that’s something to celebrate. Thank God for diversity.
Restore real free markets (most of all free speech) inside Britain. Thatcher did it successfully.
Yet the top 1% seen the biggest valuation of their wealth in history. Makes you wonder.
