Hi everyone,

I’m really hoping someone can help me find this type of paving brick to repair a large section of paving/parking area.

We had work done outside our property recently and the gas company cut up a large chunk of the w block paving, binned it and tried to tarmac it. They should have lifted the block paving and relaid it. The area affected is in a cul-de-sac and our neighbours aren’t impressed with the crappy workmanship by the gas company. Neither are we.

The land is government owned. We’ve reached out to the relevant department and they’ve told the gas company tarmac isn’t acceptable for reinstatement, but the gas company are trying to patch it in with regular red bricks and it looks like shit. They’ve stopped the work at the min as I’m guessing they’ve realised it looks like shit lol

There are builders merchants in England that sell this type of paving brick but they don’t appear to deliver to Northern Ireland. So I’m hoping there is a company based in Ireland that sell this type of paving.

They w block paving are the same size as red bricks but have an interlocking pattern.

I know it seems daft but this makes the street look like shit and I don’t know if this type of shitty work would affect house pricing. Besides, the lazy workmen should have did the job right to begin with and lifted the brick paving.

Any help would be appreciated 👍

It won’t during these times anyway!

Your best bet would be to stick up a few “wanted” ads online

Actually I’ve misread your post. Why are you getting involved? Onus should be on them to source like for like

  2. I can imagine your frustration. I did a short stint in a call centre for a utility and dealt with a good few cases like this. My job was to log the call on a computer system and read the very short explanation of why the utility hadn’t done the work to the person. I’d escalate it, which was just the click of a button and a few sentences thrown into the ether, and then try to fob off whoever read complaining and get onto the next call. It was horrible and I had no power over anything, which is why it was short. Please think of this while you’re dealing with anybody in a call centre over the matter. My best advice is to contact a local representative, they had a direct line and a dedicated section and were actually able to get things done. Random callers had very little luck when it came to things like shoddy reinstatement after works.

  3. Probably the same company that fucked all the roads near me. Dug up the roads and footpaths and filled it in with tarmac afterwards. The footpath is so uneven now and the road is a patchwork quilt. I hope you can get sorted OP
