“NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg warned there could be bad news coming out about Ukraine, as fears grow of a stalemate with Russia and allies such as the U.S. debate whether to send more aid to the country.
“We have to support Ukraine in both good and bad times but we have to be prepared for bad news,” Stoltenberg said in an interview with German broadcaster ARD on Saturday, according to Politico Europe.
Stoltenberg’s comments come as the White House issued a warning Monday saying it will run out of funds to provide weapons to Ukraine without congressional action by the end of the year”.
US just stopped sending money, politicians inside US use Ukraine as leverage. EU cannot make even a half of artillery shells that have been promised.
the dictator inside rusia starts a war inside Europe and isn’t being punished 👍
Why isn’t Europe dealing more aggressively with this problem?
How much of this “bad news” is a self-fulfilling prophecy?
As far as Good news. Two trains on separate rails leading from China to Russia within Russia exploded carrying weapons and fuel from China to Russia.
This leaves Russia cut off with no way to get supplies via either root.
One was in the tunnel and one outside of the tunnel when they switch to using a different rail after the first was attacked that had bombs on the trains.
Could be internal sabotage or Ukraine.
I haven’t read about any updates on this but they now would have to take the long path via ship.
Many train cars full of fuel and weapons went kaboom. One when going through the tunnel and another on a bridge i think.
I don’t think there is stalemate. Russia is going to face larger supply and logistics issues.
Wow, all of a sudden it turns out Russia isn’t exactly Uganda, and teaspoon of aid could not solve the problem no matter how carefully measured. Either NATO are delusional(which I do not believe for a second) or it was a bluff that did not work.
But hey, wait until the bombs are falling at your home in Europe. Because it will happen if Ukraine lose.
It’s a war. It’s kinda normal having bad news during a war.
Less trains more tanks ? Europe is full of choices
Sad. It will be a huge loss of face.
There’s no fucking point in having NATO if it isn’t going to stand up to Russia. That’s the whole reason it was made.
What? Are we really going to allow this caricature of a failed nation with its vile “ideals” to outsmart us?!
Turns out we can’t fund an entire war without actually fighting in it.
Ukraine isn’t going to win this without NATO boots on the ground, or at least active (and effective) air support.
Handing the Ukraine a handful of Bradley M2s and German Leopard 2 tanks without any meaningful way to secure the combat airspace from Russian attack helicopters and Su-25s is just leading lambs to the slaughter.
The ukraine war has just made it more obvious how complacent Western europe has been in defense spending.
We’re witnessing our Spanish-civil-war-moment: The fascist and anti-democratic forces are testing how far democracies are willing to go in order to protect each other and they are seeing that the west is willing to give up on their allies and their ideals for a few pennies.
The only logical conclusion for Russia and China is that they can attack whoever they want (except maybe the US) and there will be little to no consequences in the long run. Sure, there will be sanctions but they know: after the news cycle has moved on to a different story, we will all have forgotten that they just committed a brutal conuering expedition a few months ago.
They also know that politicians in the west are dirt cheap and their voters dumb as bricks who can’t realise that all those populists who divide their own nation are puppets who are being paid by Russia/China.
Ukraine does what it can with what it is given, the Ukrainians took out the Russian navy! Seems like the more successful missions Ukraine has the least stuff they get. Ukraine was in a great spot to win against putin unfortunately Ukraine friends decided to be more scared of putin instead of pushing for a free Ukraine
Europe is pathetic. They love to talk down on Americans but they can’t even protect themselves against Russia without American hand holding.
Anyone smell drum rolls for more funding here? According to the battle lines I last looked at it’s dead even and the second “largest” military in the world can’t get out of a quagmire. It’s a disaster for Russia already. Not only is this being used in the US to drum up funding but worldwide. War machines will always be just that.
Europe is just hoping the inconvenient situation resolves quietly so they can just go back to doing business. They have no problem throwing Ukraine under the bus. They just sent a handful of fucking tanks and shit to tell you they did something, while it doesn’t change the course of the war. Losers.
Support Ukraine. Support democracy. Fuck Russia. Fuck fascism.
We sent everything too little, too late and most equipment not at all.
Maybe stating the obvious here: short term, every country that borders Russia is in jeopardy if this “special military operation” BS isn’t completely thwarted. It’ll fester for generations. The despots will collaborate and realize opportunity for their efforts. Long term? Lets just say this won’t end well for those who currently don’t care and everyone else too.

I’ve seen enough after 3 comments..see you all after this dumpster fire is out in a week or so
someone should just invade russia already, they’re distracted and weakened, prime opportunity
I don’t understand why’s he voicing this sentiment. EU needs to step up.
So.. if you start a war and fight long enough which is like 2 years, the west will surrender.
Good to know. I guess we can start kissing non nuclear power countries goodbye.
This will be end of the current world order.
I thinks, it is a (non-)victory for Russia but a huge loss for the Western countries. Let me explain why I think so.
1: The will to fight. (EU citizens are cowards)
Ukraine is one of the easternmost countries in Europe and one of the few countries that had citizens willing to fight for their country. That will to fight is rare across the EU. (Maybe the polish and finish people would do the same what the ukrainians did, but thats it.) Polls which asked “would you die for your countrie” show that most EU countries have a >50% “yes” rate.
2: Global perspective
Its not only about the local war. You have to consider the global fight among countries for military and economic power. Countries like Hungary, China, and other enemies will take bigger steps against the EU. The US and the EU will not have the same leverage against these countries as they did before.
3: New World Order
This war will hurt Russia in a tremendously way, and this will create a vacuume which will be filled form the central asian countries. I predict an uprise of this central asain countries. This will create even harder world politics for the EU and US because they are not neighbours anymore and out of reach. Countries like China, Turkey and India will have more influence on these countries and will form an alliance which will mainly target the Western countries.

What do you think? Let me hear your critiques about my analysis.
The problem is that Russia doesn’t care about anything and they are ready to continue the war as long as necessary, while Europe and U.S. are tired of this war after almost three years. It’s the failure of this long term strategy by the EU and the U.S.
No Russia no problem.
It’s hard for Ukraine for sure and I know for a fact that this next statement will have two very strong sides. But I am exceptionally grateful that NATO exists and wholeheartedly believe that it’s the only alliance keeping a moderate peace throughout the world.
Think about it, each nation in Europe looking over its shoulder wondering who’s going to attack who, and when an attack does take place all the other nations turn their back and pretend it isn’t happening. It’s basically what happened in WW2 until it was far too late. We need an “article 5” which is essentially a pact of “you invade one, you fight us all”.
I’m sure it’s not perfect and let’s seriously hope it’s never put to the test but it’s a fucking monumental deterrent even if it’s just a sheet of paper…
So we nearing a time where Russia could take Ukraine, Israel takes Gaza and China is closer to take Taiwan. Is this correct? Im no war historian but it sounds like WW3 in the making.
It’s only bad, when it’s bad for Lockeed Martin, Raytheon and the like…
So who is Russia invading next?
Then greenlight using given weapons in Russian territory.
If they can’t penetrate minefields and defensive lines, blow up their supply and military bases.
They are stuck because of restrictions on how they can use the aid.
If US pulls out, I wonder if Poland is going to just go in, as they would be next anyways.
They control a lot of massive mineral deposits. This is bad news for everyone not aligned with Russia.
