  1. Should’ve been at least nominated in 2007 for Best Supporting imo. Man made the Illusionist work despite not being one of the “leads”

  2. Wait, he already has an Oscar nomination. He was nominated in Supporting Actor for Cinderella Man back in 06.

  3. It’s still a crime that he didn’t get nominated for that Frankie Muniz film.

  4. If the hangover part 2 wasn’t getting him on the radar of the Oscar’s nothing will.

  5. Good for him ! Love Paul.

As a side note though, as a wine rep, FUCK what that move (Sideways) did to Merlot. It just devastated Merlot sales nationally and they have never recovered.

  6. He deserved one, just like Reese Witherspoon deserved on in election

  7. Paul Giamatti is long overdue for an Oscar. He is a great actor.

  8. I’d be happy for him, but also consider him to be over-rated.

  9. Yeah he’s great and all, glad he’s getting recognition, but it’s been 20 years since Sideways came out? That is mind blowing to me.

  10. The Holdovers is so many layers deep. On the surface the story seems simple, and the characters are portrayed that way at first. But then the whole movie turns into this crazy deep character study. I was pretty stunned at certain assumptions I’d made in the beginning were flipped upside down consistently throughout. It has award deserving acting, and one of the better endings of recent movie I can think of. Deserves all the recognition

  11. Crazy how he doesn’t have more noms and a win at least.

  12. He got one for Cinderella man ffs… but yeah, he should have had one for sideways for sure

  13. Can we please stop pretending that “Sideways” wasn’t a boring slog?
