  1. China blocks the world from their internet. We should block them back…at least during sensitive and important moments….ie an election.

  2. Lmao look at Xi look at this smug sonuvabitch he knows what’s good haha

    He all like 😏

    “Your internet’s gettin slow, ay?”

    Utter dickbag.

  3. Irony is that there seems to be a coordinated effort to spam this Indian article as many times as possible in the past 12 hours even though this story is 5 days old

  4. The content from actual report is below.

    > Nov 2023: Meta’s Adversarial Threat Report, Third Quarter 2023

    > 1. China: We removed **13 accounts and seven Groups in China that targeted primarily India and the
Tibet region** and, to a lesser extent, the United States. This small network operated fictitious
personas on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) posing as journalists, lawyers and human-rights
activists. We found this activity as part of our internal investigation into suspected coordinated
    inauthentic behavior in the region.
    2. China: We removed **4,789 Facebook accounts in China that targeted the United States and
posed as Americans across different platforms** to post about US politics and US-China relations.
We removed this network before it was able to gain engagement from authentic communities on
our apps. We found this activity as part of our internal investigation into suspected coordinated
    inauthentic behavior in the region.

And then when you read the headline, you can understand how desperate some of the Indian media (the ones aligned with ruling party) are to sensationalize simple facts (i.e. in this specific case, target is more of US, and India not as much), so as to favor you-know-who who will then go on to do strongman propaganda and all sort of chest-thumping rhetorical speeches, to keep the votebase distracted. In reality, Whatsapp University and shady Facebook groups, strife with religion/hate forwards, are much bigger problem in the country.

Note: Firstpost is an Indian news website owned by Reliance Industries (the richest Indian family), which also runs CNN-News18 and CNBC TV18.

  5. The pathetic will do whatever they can to stay in power….

  6. National security is going to be more and more about internet security over time

  7. The fact this is coming to light ahead of elections in both countries is not a coincidence.

  8. China is an enemy of the West. People need to wake up to that.

  9. The author of this story on FirstPost (Reliance-group owned Indian news media), Mehul Reuben Das, is so shoddy in his journalism skills, apparently.

He wrote a FirstPost story, based on a sh** post on Twitter which said Sam Altman got fired due to Microsoft Teams vs Google Meet conflict.

Sh** posting account on Twitter: https://twitter.com/shantanugoel/status/1726988269492265023

    FirstPost story, removed now: https://www.firstpost.com/tech/google-meet-vs-microsoft-teams-the-bizarre-reason-stopping-sam-altmans-return-to-openai-13406402.html

  10. I sincerely believe for the sake of democracy, we need to relinquish our identity on internet. You never know who’s trying to to incite whom. Frankly Reddit is very dangerous when it comes to politics. It’s very easy to incite movements from a few skills on internet

  11. I wonder who Jinping is pushing to win the US elections? I guess it would be the person who would have the most disastrous effect on the US and western democracies. Who could that be?

  12. We need something like a cyber version of NATO, a supernational apparatus for the modern democracies that mobilizes our collective cyber resources in defense of this free and increasingly fragile open ecosystem.

  13. I’d love to know just how many fake accounts the US has on WeChat to foment discontent in China. Lol. They deserve it.

  14. This guy just can’t focus on his own people. He is so busy trying to fuck over the rest of the world.

  15. Can we just put a firewall around china and Russia. (And likely India if they can’t get their shit together.)

  16. I know traditional media isn’t super popular but now may be an important time to remember at least they have liability laws they have to follow. We don’t have to rely on social media for facts.
