  7. It makes sense. South Korea is one of the biggest active producers of NATO standard artillery shells. Western countries send their stockpiles to Ukraine, and South Korea helps backfill those reserves.

    If you don’t want China and NK to think they can invade somewhere and get to keep it, you have to prove that the West will not give up.

    The US and Europe are getting there slowly – Rheinmetall promises 700k shells next year. But rebuilding an industry you strangled over 30 years takes time.

    We need SK’s warehouses and factories in the meantime.

    Remember when the EU flipped out in 2017 when the US considered sanctions on Russian pipelines?
