Russia Thinks America Is Bluffing: To Deter a Ukraine Invasion, Washington’s Threats Need to Be Tougher

  1. Russia is clearly bluffing. There’s no reason they couldn’t have attacked when Trump was in power to soften the blowback. This is all just negotiation.

  2. I’m almost as concerned about American toughness as I am about Russian aggression. The USA is unreliable and driven by domestic politics and corrupt interests too, just not as much as Putin is. I only wish Germany had some alternative to Russian natural gas, but it’s not allowed to say the word that rhymes with circular.

  3. The US world order needs to die. How that happens is irrelevant; it just needs to die.

America is at the end-stage of its lifespan either way. The divisions in that country are not going to magically heal.

Once America erupts, the Macrons, Merkels, etc. of Europe will be punished.

  4. Europeans need to remember the historic sequence of the last 300 years.

Beginning with the fall of the Bourbons in 1789 [ or 1792, if you wish]

When Europeans misrun weapons and strategy [ which seems to be happening recurrently ] , the U.S. immediately turns , for example, the Louisiana Purchase , into giant Amazon factories and Apple stores.

Long term economic competitiveness in computer design and mathematics, requires capital investment that disappears if wars and strategy are mismanaged.

Time to get rid of the deadbeats.
