  1. It is wrong to call this scum ‘men’. By their own actions they have disqualified themselves.

  2. It’s just a matter of time before we see vigilante violence. I don’t get how there’s so little urgency in European politics to squash this issue.

    I get that Europe doesn’t want to lump all migrants and refugees in with the ones that cause trouble and that’s the right thing but it’s also naive because the population will start doing exactly that sooner or later, if not already, and then what?

    Politicians have no choice; they’ve got to change all the immigration and refugee policies right now: Temporary permits only, skilled or much needed workers only, you can’t bring your family, refugees with possible ptsd don’t get to enter/participate in society, if there are no facilities we can’t help you. If you commit a crime you are deported or locked up. It’s though, I wish it was different but man… this will not end well if things don’t change.

    I see a lot of comments here about immigrants this or migrants that. While I personally believe they did not receive an appropriate sentence, the issue looks more like what I would consider absurd amounts of leniency for crimes committed by minors and would apply evenly no matter the origin of the perpetrator.

    They aren’t free they are under pre parole which is a condition in German youth law meaning their punishment will be decided in 6 months.

    They aren’t acquired and free they are waiting for their trial to proceed.

  34. The reason for the lenient sentences is the german law.

    the perpetrators were judged in a juvenile court unlike those in the other gangrape article mentioned by the blaze. that already shows this is a propaganda article by a rightwing rag, not interested in actual truth but “winning the culture war”.

    the judge didnt let those guys go, she literally couldnt do much under german law. until §177 StGB was changed a few years ago, those guys wouldnt have been sentenced at all.
