Spotted Rod Stewart unexpectedly performing a few tunes on my way back from a lunch break today. Still quite new to London, but is this just a thing that happens or was this planned? Couldn’t get any closer due to Rod Stewart fans and the sweet older ladies in tears from the excitement.

This happens most days actually. Rod is big into trains and he’s mostly harmless so security let him wander about pretending he’s the driver.

I mean its always ‘planned’ to some extent but, with a star at Rod’s level, it probably happens every few years or so somewhere in London.
Something something Downtown Train
As an aside, I chatted with a guy who goes around tuning the public train station pianos. He was in St Pancras working on this piano near the Eurostar exit. He said they tend to do a tune-up just before these ‘secret’ events with piano-playing stars – just to make sure it doesn’t sound absolutely awful.
