  1. What a weirdly short article?

Nick Triggle has been vociferously anti-doctor in his reporting of this whole thing and has shown very little nuance or understanding of what’s been happening.

  2. Good, the problem go’s away when the government negotiates in good faith.

  3. Shipped around the country at a whim, destroying friendships and relationships in the process. A 6 year degree with A*AA (or AAA) entry requirements. £14.09 per hour. Not even having a chair to work from. Understaffing every day. The Damocles Sword of the GMC +/- criminal justice system if you make a mistake.

Even with a 35% payrise doctors still provide ridiculously good value. This government has money for dodgy PPE contracts, for spreading hateful rhetoric, for wine and cheese parties during lockdown.

Doctors, and by extension your health, are just not a concern for them.

  4. It’s funny to me that it’s the junior doctors complaining, it should be the senior doctors getting the good pay, inspire the juniors to earn the skills

  5. Excellent

This was a unanimous decision – the issue isn’t going away. The Gov have paid more than what they’re asking for to pay the costs of the strikes so far.

Cheaper to reverse their paycuts, which will end the strikes and the NHS can reap the dividend of much better retention of some of their most productive workers?

The Gov currently pay Doctors less than Doctor Assistants (Physician Associates) who they supervise

It’s £1 billion which is small change for not having the whole NHS turned upside down, and is exactly what you’ve cut from them anyways. They’re not even asking for backpay

  6. So they should. We should all be on fucking strike till they call a general election. I’m sick of their shit.

  7. “Junior doctors “ – you can be a junior doctor well in to your 40’s and 50’s . 15 – 20 years after completing medical school. Such a belittling term for such qualified people.

  8. Fully support this! Hope they get the pay they deserve!

This country is rotten to the core when people like healthcare workers, teachers and other public services are underpaid as much as they are!
