Cheney’s story about Pence being on the call and going along with the plan days before Jan 6 is impossible. Mike Pence’s book said his hero marine son reminded him on Christmas Eve that he wasn’t supposed to overthrow the government even though President Trump was his dearest friend in the world.
And then everybody clapped. Especially baby Jesus, listening in his floating manger nearby with a wise and quiet smile. Which he learned in the Marines.
This fucking sack of trash and the assholes who act like she’s “reasonable.” What she is is someone who normalized and allowed all of this along the way until it turned against her. Now she’s selling a book so she tells us all the ways she saw this coming.

In this day and age, choosing to be a Republican is a test of character. If you’re still a Republican, you have failed that test.

A chilling moment like when I realized Liz Chenney had the relevance of a clogged toilet.
I know the Cheneys are not good people, but we should take whatever help we can get to prevent trump getting back into office next year.
Have those commenting on this story actually read it … or been paying attention to things related to this generally? Liz is certainly not my idea of what a statesperson should be generally, but she did take what she heard to the Parliamentarian immediately, she was one of the two Republicans on the committee that oversaw the impeachment of Trump, and she voted to impeach him, and I suspect the committee was well aware of the call and her role in it. She’s one of relatively few congressional Republicans who were on the right side of the impeachment inquiry … and it cost her her political career. Again, she was not on the right side of much else in my opinion. But, most of the negative comments in this thread simply aren’t factually accurate … and, facts do matter.
People on the left beg and plead for those supporting Trump to turn against him because he’s a danger to everything from the rule of law to free elections. One does, a Congresswoman from Wyoming of all people. She heads a committee investigating 1/6. She loses her seat because of it, gets censured by her own party and no longer has a political future. And yet all everyone here can do is bash her. If you can’t see that Cheney is part of the solution (someone you don’t agree with politically but you know will respect our elections and laws) then you are part of the problem.
Guys, it’s time that we acknowledged the reality of our situation. The Democratic party coalition is splintering under Biden‘s haphazard Israel response. I believe Trump will be elected and we must all make plans to take our liberal Democratic values elsewhere. I hope to God I’m wrong, but it doesn’t look like it.
