Kit, subs, then travel to training and particularly away fames, etc. If you are worried about putting food on the table or a couple of pounds in the electric meter then kids sport (even though it’s brilliant for them) us Way down the list!!!
It’s not just a top, shorts and socks these days. There’s training tops, jackets, under shirts, gloves, boots. It’s incredible how much it costs to kit out a kid. Then they grow each year so new kit so needed. It’s a significant financial commitment. Especially when you’re scraping by.
There are schemes that try to hand down kit but it’s not a key priority for clubs and people are too proud to ask for help.
