  1. I might disagree with her, but I can’t say she’s corrupt.

  2. The Putintercept doesn’t do reporting, it does propaganda

  3. ‘Hello, public official! I will give you money if you do this thing for me.’

How is that not bribery? That’s exactly a quid pro quo.

  4. No wonder AIPAC hates her so much. She couldn’t be bought off.

  5. 100k seems like a small amount for one of the most high profile politicians in the country. She probably gets offered more to wear certain clothing brands in public.

  6. Legalised bribery. How many took money that we will never hear about.
    Democracy, lol

  7. The money was just the start of it… acceptance by AIPAC brings endorsements, speaker fees, invites to parties and charity events, access to money makers, the movers shakers. It’s a doorway to more access to other groups… and more protection for upcoming elections. She takes the money, and maybe just is a little less vocal on her criticisms, makes a few less statements on Israel… maybe she doesn’t get that strong challenge in 2024 or 2026. Maybe she gets a cozy spot in upstate NY for a song. Maybe her friends and family get a few favors that otherwise might not happen, things that don’t make the news.

This is the ugly truth of American politics, large money donors and orgs that actually run the political machines that control most of our congress, our local state and county elections, and even have sway over national policy and international policy.

They aren’t a secret shadowy organization. It’s all legal and *above* the law. This is the machine that makes party politics completely inaccessible to people who actually want to make things better without the greasing the skids or the creeping sledgehammer of incrementalism.

Once you are a big enough name, and you have a rep as being reformer, that makes you an even bigger get. The more money comes your way… everyone has a price. It doesn’t have to be AIPAC, there are so many of these groups… everyone of them has big pockets.

  8. When folks talk about influence peddling on the right…

  9. Wish we’d “start the conversation” about ending citizens united.

  10. AIPAC getting desperate now that they can’t take out anyone they want with a money spigot like the old days.

Hell, they’ve ruined careers of people running against Omar. People don’t trust mercenaries

  11. So AIPAC just has money laying around like that? wow..

  12. Was this before or after she voted to give Israel more military funding?

  13. LoL! “Offered at $100,000 to start a relationship”? They really thought she’s a sugar baby, didn’t they? No, she’s on a higher end.

  14. …..and now you see why they want in and never want out of politics.
    It’s all about money!!!

  15. It’s not bribery if it’s to a politician who pushes the agenda you paid for. It’s bribery when a poor person does it.

  16. AOC was picked in auditions – she admitted it. Out of 10,000 candidate I believe they claimed.
She is already owned by the other side.

  17. AOC needs to quit politics and open an OF account.

    There I said it.

  18. This is the Kabal that runs America. Any criticism ia Israel, this organization will make you regret the day you were born!

  19. This is why AOC is one of the best leaders we have. She won’t succumb to this lobbying and sticks to her principles.

We need more AOCs out there

  20. What happens if she, or any politician for that matter, takes the bribe money and tells them to fuck off and just carry on with her original agenda? Can they get the money back?

  21. “AIPAC denied the offer to HuffPost, but Marans offers an interesting (and I think correct) interpretation: Before AIPAC started a real political action committee for the 2022 elections, it’s feasible an affiliated megadonor or major bundler could have gone to AOC with a policy paper and an offer and never told AIPAC itself. Flush with cash and facing no serious general election opponent, the offer wasn’t seriously considered.”

  22. My dem rep got like $100,000 from AIPAC and took the offer fml

  23. She’s so attractive for so many reasons besides her looks. In an ideal world she becomes president and millions of little girls have an awesome role model but the disgusting ghouls of the GOP and those who vote for them would never let that happen

  24. She is the shiznit, i hope she eventually runs for president, i’d vote her in in a heartbeat. She’s tough as nails.

  25. Wow. I know I shouldn’t trust politicians, but way to go, AOC!

  26. We need benevolent AI to govern with us, so money and greed are no longer influential political factors.

  27. AIPAC are an absolute cancerous organization. They should be banned from American politics.

  28. And yet people say there’s no deep state.

Good for AOC. I suspect many people will be surprised by her and what she will end up doing for the country.

  29. So that’s what happened to Ritchie Torres. I really thought he could’ve been the next Obama, but he ended up being a huge coward. Such a shame.

  30. If true, this is astounding, massively illegal, and will result in multiple people going to jail.

AIPAC, despite its name, did not operate a PAC (political action committee) until 2022. In 2018, it could not legally donate $1 to Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign, let alone $100,000.

I can’t wait to see the receipts.

  31. We need to check accounts of all the people doing the ride or die dance for Netanyahu right now. Especially since we know he had foreknowledge about the attack plans.
