Outrageous ! Mayor St Khan’s ulez expansion should have achieved this in its own…… No wait… That’s only 3% at best… Statistically officiant….oh well have to think up some more indirect taxation policies
I’d be interested to read how other countries are getting on. It seems like quite an important aspect when talking about the world stage. Quite why the uk pledged a reduction of 68% when the Netherlands are only held to a 49% and Germany 55% target is anyone’s guess. I suppose they’re paying the price for stupidity.
That comes as no surprise to me when we have a government that is lacking any serious intent to reduce carbon emissions at all, and determined NIMBY opposition to doing anything at all around them.
Government (local and national) not only does not do anything with public funds, but actively prevents people doing anything with private funds – preventing onshore wind farms, solar farms, etc.
We can’t even connect up our existing zero carbon energy sources because NIMBYs keep preventing the National Grid from actually wiring them up.
I’m likely to miss my target of becoming a millionaire this Saturday.
Don’t worry.
We can always make more targets. No doubt the next ones will be even tougher.
Lets go for an absorption of 50 million tonnes of CO2 every year by 2065. Im not going to bother with a plan because its a long way in the future and fairies and pixies will sort it all out well before then. But my target is bigger than yours so I must be the leader.
But Dayve from Watford thinks climate change is a Chinese scam… so the Tories went with him
WHy do you guys care about this nonsense?
When I lived around Manchester you had elderly folk literally dying during winters because they couldn’t afford to keep the thermostat at a constant measly 14 celsius.

I think you have more important priorities.
