  6. She’s a pretty painful speaker but her poorly made point or at least the underpinnings of it are correct. Ukraine can’t win against Russia. Everyone knows it. The russian economy is expected to grow this year regardless of European and US sanctions. They could fight for the next fifty years. Prolonged conflict will only bring one thing and that’s more death. As for Gaza the world needs to step in and say no more. No more war crimes no more apartheid and let’s force a two state solution.

    I’ve heard a lot about wars, and for peace we ukm uh gave up six counties so uh i think Palestinians should give up only one city for peace

    Russo- ukrainian or Israel- Palestinian her arguments could be used to defend all factions in both

    Doesn’t mean anything when nether side of either war want it to end, and neither side in either war are in a position to accept an end

    So easy to call for peace when you have no idea what’s going on and don’t realise both sides of both wars think they’re going to win

  10. Historically she is correct. The UVF threatened armed revolt against the will of Westminster 1912-14 and effectively forced the UK govt toward partition. In 1921 on 6 December, the partition was written into the treaty under threat of immediate and terrible war. In 1998 under the GFA the people of the 26 county state abandoned the Constitutional claim to the territory of the 6 counties. This was done on the basis of a militant minority within the island having the backing of a much larger and better armed military neighbour and finally on the near collapse of paramilitary action to recover the 6 counties.

    Now whether the Russian population of the disputed areas of Eastern Ukraine form a majority within those areas is a different question but her description of the trading of territory and claim over territory for peace is accurate.
