What did you hope to accomplish by electing this man, Alabama?
I’ll believe it after people are confirmed.
>’He will continue to block promotions for four star generals over his objections to a Pentagon abortion policy.’
>Tuberville told reporters in the Capitol on Tuesday that he will drop the hold on all promotions except those for Four Star generals
Because he wants to leave those open for Trump to appoint? Also, if it’s just a few people here or there, can he even block that? I thought he was only blocking unanimous consent, but they could still promote those generals “the long way” if they needed to?
Correct me if I’m wrong, please, I haven’t followed this closely enough.
What did he accomplish? What a tool.
Fucking Tuber Tommyville
He is a waste of a senate seat.
As usual with Republicans, posturing and ultimately meaningless results.
Good job, asshole. You accomplished nothing but to make yourself look like even more of a fool, and to make the US Military weaker. Congrats.
The senate should still drop the stupid rule that allowed this at all, it is not serving us well and they work for us so get your jobs done! Also service members are still getting reimbursed so he lost all along anyway, deplorables so dumb lol!
*Mission accomplished*
Russia MVP. North Korea MVP. China MVP. Never forget the risks he took with our national security.
I’m worried what concessions he may have gotten to make this happen. It was reported a few weeks ago that one thing he was offered by his colleagues was to have the House GOP sue the Pentagon in order to get the Supreme Court to block the military’s ability to reimburse abortion travel expenses for personnel.
How about we drop Tommy Tuberville next?
“he will be lifting holds on military promotions for nominees three-stars and below”
“Tuberville’s release on the holds still requires four-star nominees – which currently number about 10 – to be voted on individually on the Senate floor.”
Treason. What he did was treason. He weakened our national defenses out of weird political spite. He belongs in a cage forever.
Tupperware accomplished absolutely nothing but compromising our military readiness. This should have disqualified him from serving in congress but of course he will probably be re-elected again. Just disgusting.
Do people in Alabama understand how many Billions with a B they piss away by being the caricature of a southern state? With their cuisine and hospitality skills, people would flock to the south for holiday travel instead of going to the Caribbean or Hawaii but the religion, racism and petulant adolescence makes it unbearable for anyone with a reasonable thought process.
> “We did the right thing for the unborn and for our military, fighting back against executive overreach.”
Ah yes, “executive overreach,” in that famous bastion of democracy, the US military.
A failure at football, a failure at politics, and a failure at life. Tommy Tuberville everyone.
Until a vote, he is blocking it. I don’t take any politician (especially R) on their word.
What is in the water in Alabama, their Pop Pop Senator lives in Florida full time. The fact that they allow their US Senators to live outside the state is all you need to know.
>Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was prepared to force a vote to change Senate rules on approving military promotions, and some Republicans were open to backing it.
Good to know that not all Republicans have sold out to the Russians but there’s still some way to go before they redeem themselves.
They must be slowly giving up on Trump being elected. I figured this whole thing was about placing Trump loyalists at the top of the military once he wins in 2024. Why else relent on the hold now?
Tuberville: _Ok, you can proceed with military promotions now._
McConnell: _Wait a second, it’s nearly election year. we better hold off._
I mean this with all possible sincerity.
I hope Tommy Tuberville slips and falls ass first on a cactus once a week for the rest of his sad, pathetic life.
Please do the world a favor and just go the heck away and let the serious people do actual work.
“Tuberville admitted his tactics failed to impact the policy he was targeting but did succeed in putting a spotlight on the issue.”
No, all it did was put a spotlight onto his idiocy.
As a 22yr Vet; may we never forget his treason!!
Fuck this guy.
But also our government being held up by one individual is a bit of an oversight.
> Defense Department Spokesperson Brigadier General Pat Ryder told reporters on Tuesday afternoon that Tuberville’s continued hold would impact about 11 officers who are up for promotion to the level of a Four Star general.
So, he’s still holding on the the top leadership positions, so if tiny-hands wins he can fill them with loyal shills.
He’s still holding up key command positions! This is ridiculous! No single person should be able to do this
