  1. Really trying his hardest to protect traitors to the country who would rather see it burn than not have their King Trump in charge.

  2. “To be clear, the Speaker only mentioned the DOJ to get a sound byte that plays with the current narrative. No one should be persecuted publicly, just because they participated in an insurrection of our collective government”

  3. > Raj Shah, a spokesperson for Johnson, wrote in a statement that his boss was mistaken on the reasoning for the blurred faces, insisting that the decision to conceal identities was to protect rioters from harassment by the public—not from prosecution by the DOJ, who already has the raw footage.

You don’t want friends/family turning in traitors.

  4. Did he walk back actually blurring them? Or just the voiced reason behind it?

  5. Johnson’s office can try to walk it back all they want, but his statement is on video, just like the rest of the insurrectionists he continues to abet.

  6. Well that’s good, for a while it looked like they were shielding criminals like Trump from prosecution.

  7. “Ok, we’re fascists, we blurred them because we want to destroy the government”

  8. Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive.

  9. He forgot he wasn’t just praying to his orange pig king

  10. Hey, its the natural consequences of releasing video footage of people doing illegal things in an uprising against their own government.

Maybe the rioters should not have attended this insurrection attempt.

Maybe the footage of the rioters illegally present wouldn’t have to be released.

Maybe the manipulating of the footage has a certain dystopian look to it.

Maybe this all is a really bad idea.

  11. Meanwhile the orange turd wants to paint a target on court employees and judges for retaliation.

  12. The ONLY reason they blurred the faces was to keep us from helping the DOJ identify these treasonous shitheads so they could be arrested.

  13. So are the MAGA crazies upset that the House Speaker is protecting all of the Antifa thugs? /s

  14. Why would the J6ers be retaliated against if they weren’t doing anything wrong, Mike?

Or are you admitting that you’re trying to protect criminals?

  15. When the government tells you that you can’t see something in the public record you should be looking at whatever they say you’re not supposed to be looking at. Obviously within reason, but in this case the government is trying to tell you that you’re not allowed to see the faces of the people who stormed the capital on January 6th. Bullshit. Government censorship from the right is never a good idea.

  16. Masturbaiting Mike blurs the faces so he won’t feel gay.

  17. Now that Johnson has released his blurred version, why couldn’t the DOJ just release the un-blurred version, and ask the public to see if they recognize anyone?

  18. Flip Flop MAGA Mike Pastor of the HOuse, obstructionist of uno reverse justice, Benedict Donald’s flim flam man-bish …

  19. It’s amazing how like six months ago this guy was absolutely no one. Literally 0.00% of people would be able to identify him by face (the few dozen that could being a rounding error). Him and his subservient complementarian wife and her conversion therapy and his son who has to lie about wanking it on his burner phone.

And now he’s second in line for backup President and he’s one of the most well known douchebags on earth.

  20. Johnson is vastly underqualified for his job and has ZERO credibility.

  21. Yeah, I don’t imagine the DOJ has seen this footage, right.

  22. Regardless of the fact that the tapes will show that some of the rioters were wandering around aimlessly and, as they put it, “peacefully” for a little while, it doesn’t just erase the fact that we saw with our own eyes, on the day it was happening, WHILE it was happening, these people beating the shit out of cops, squeezing some of them between the doors and their own riot shields, breaking down doors, busting through windows, climbing the walls, smearing shit on the walls, stealing stuff from congressional offices, one guy running away with the congressional podium, actively hunting for the vice president with the intent to murder him by hanging, hunting other congresspeople and senators with intent to murder… WHY IS THE FORMER PARTY OF LAW AND ORDER DEFENDING THESE CRIMINALS? THESE PEOPLE WHO WENT IN WITH INTENT TO KILL? INSURRECTIONISTS? THEY TRIED TO OVERTHROW OUR GOVERNMENT FOR FUCK SAKES!!! Sorry for the all caps but I’m getting worked up here. I used to be a republican, I’m glad I’m not anymore. I don’t know what the fuck happened to them. Sorry for the rant, I just… I don’t know.

  23. Isn’t this disqualifying under the 14th Amendment for providing comfort to insurrectionists?

  24. Gee, I would have thought that they would be asking for the public’s help in identifying the antifi and government provocateurs masquerading as Trump supporters.

  25. Republicans are doing a whole lot of backwards walking lately. Shame they don’t backwards walk their way out of our government institutions.

  26. He’s walking it back because DOJ has already had it for years. So his “oh I’m protecting the innocent from the weaponized DOJ” shtick was universally called out as obvious self-aggrandizing bullshit.

  27. Protecting the guilty.

Isn’t aiding and abetting against the law?

  28. They want to prevent retaliation while MAGA threatens judges, court employees and witnesses with death threats???

  29. Facts are easily modifiable. It’s the Christian way.

  30. Yeah, because someone with the intelligence of a turnip finally realized that it’s illegal.

  31. What else will they distort when they’re in there blanking out the faces?

  32. He said what he said. I would have assumed that the DOJ/FBI already has all this footage. Blurring the faces to “protect them from harassment” actually means “protect them from being identified and reported by other citizens”. It’s the same thing as what he initially said. The intention is to limit prosecutions. Fuck this guy and all his ilk.

  33. When they tell you who they are, believe them. This is telling us that they want to protect the identities of criminals, that they want to obstruct justice and that they are still protecting Trump and his supporters. Even though the DOJ has the tapes, this action excludes the public from helping them identify them
