Ever got stuck in the everlasting tunnels of doom in king’s cross? Here’s how to avoid them.

You’ll find lots of guides for specific journeys, but this simplifies it to 2 tricks.

1. *If you’re entering the station by train, always exit at the front of the train.*

This will be the signs to Circle, Hammersmith and Metropolitan lines. Even if you want the Northern, Victoria or Picadilly , don’t worry, once you leave the platform you’ll see new signs for the northern line.

Why? The underground lines are a 4-pointed star. If you exit at the front, you are at the centre of the star and can switch quickly.

2. *Always use the entrance/exit in the second photo and 3rd image, next to the round building. This is the entrance nearest to the front of all the platforms.*

Enjoy!

Even better, none of this involves going against foot traffic like lots of tube hacks do.

  1. For item 2 entering the entrance next to the front of the station is fine however where all the signs then tell you to turn right for e.g. the Victoria line, ignore them and turn left.
