While speaking at a fundraiser outside Boston on Tuesday, Mr Biden said Mr Trump’s persistence on the political scene is why he is not stepping aside in favour of a new generation.
He isnt wrong. DNC doesn’t have anyone that can beat Trump right now and Biden has been doing amazing. If the GOP was smart they’d have dropped Lord Dampnut and the real extremists nutjobs the house when McCarthy was first trying to run for speaker. President Biden is a good man. He’s been through a whole lot as a young man when he lost his wife and daughter so close to Christmas in a tragic car accident. He kept going for his surviving young sons and continued to serve in Congress. That is not easy. I think people underestimate Biden’s ability to connect with personal tragedy and his earnest compassion for working folks. In many ways he reminds me of my father. He was adventuresome and had many talents and served our country in the Air Force in WWII. My closest friend described my dad as a gentleman and a gentle man. He was not a pushover and did not let me win to give me a false boost. I won or I lost whether it was a foot race, a sailing race or any other legitimate debate. I loved him very much and he was an excellent father.
