  1. Holly shit, Ukraine! No wonder it is called a bread basket.

  2. If you want to eat in the future don’t give up support for the Ukrainian.

  3. I would see this in 10 years or so and seeing the creeping northwards due climate warming.

  4. this doesn’t correlate with soil quality and even yields per acre, weird

  5. This must include flower fields, because most crops in the Netherlands are grown in the east. The western farms are almost only grass-fed dairy farms, flower bulb farms and greenhouses.

  6. What story does this tell?

50% of the Netherlands is used for agriculture in the broadest sense (also livestock, greenhouse, horticulture). This map shows only crops, that’s why the areas in the east are lighter (more livestock).

  7. Georgia got nuked into the black sea.

    also, terrible colour scheme

  8. There’s just no way Slovenia is accurate here. I just moved here a year and a half ago from Texas and there’s so much farmland everywhere.

  9. My province in the Nederlands has 58,1% agricultural land, yet is marked as 0% crops. It really shows how ridiculous amount of livestock we have.

  10. Seems to be incorrect at least for Finland. For example, in Southwestern Finland the value should be over 25% according to our national statistics.
