Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ilya Kiva was found dead in the Moscow region. The Russian television channel REN TV was the first to report this , citing sources.
An interlocutor of the Russian state agency RIA Novosti in the emergency services and an RBC source close to the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the body was found in the village of Suponevo, in the Odintsovo district. The causes of death are being investigated.
There is no official confirmation of this information yet. The main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Moscow Region told RBC that they do not yet have information about Kiva’s possible death.
Sources of Ukrayinska Pravda claim that the Security Service of Ukraine is behind the death of Kiva.
In mid-November, a court in Lviv found Kiva guilty of treason and sentenced him in absentia to 14 years in prison.
Kiva is a former policeman and adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, a participant in the war in eastern Ukraine on the side of Kyiv. He headed the regional branch of the Right Sector, banned in Russia. In 2014, Kiva participated in the presidential elections with 0.03% of the votes. He was elected to the Rada from the Opposition Platform – For Life party, which the Ukrainian authorities call pro-Russian.
A criminal case against the politician was opened in early March 2022, immediately after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. Before the invasion, the deputy regularly participated in Russian state television and lived in Spain. Afterwards, he accused the Ukrainian authorities of attempted kidnapping and asked for political asylum in Russia.

If I have to guess, this isn’t even Ukrainian operation. He was small time dickhead, and little more than an annoyance to Ukraine as there are much bigger fish to fry. His death is more likely work of Russians themselves as they are eliminating all separatist figure heads to create a complete political vacuum in the occupied territory to then install their apparatchiks.
Ukraine won’t shed a tear for him, but neither will Russia. FAFO.
