  1. Schoon gebouw, vanbinnen alleszins mooier dan dat donker gedrocht dat ze met alle trots in Gent hebben neergepoot.

  2. Can’t help but feel there’s a lot of empty space which could go to shelves with books and a larger collection as a result…basically make a library a library instead of an ‘experience’. The experience is in the vastness of the knowledge contained within its walls, not the coziness of the magazine section.

  3. I really like going there. Before my daughter was born I’d visit it every Saturday to read the newspaper. The openness isn’t an issue it really makes it feel grand. Love it.

  4. Persoonlijk kan ik niet wachten tot “industrieel-chique” weer uit de mode is. Wat een koud gebeuren zeg, doet me denken aan het SMAK in Gent.

  5. In libraries, this type of design is shit. One person coughs, drops a pencil, forgets to turn off their phone, has squeaky trainers, and literally everyone is disturbed by it. The background noise is continual and exhausting.

  6. Didn’t know they read books in **Oilsjt**

Thought they were nonstop drunk and danced the **polonaise** all year through in womens clothes ?

  7. Not my style. Lots of open (wasted) space, lots of concrete, open ceiling.

Reminds me of the Krook, modern libraries are so wasteful.
