When driving to Remich along the Moselle from the north, there’s a big mansion hidden in the cliff. It’s barely visible in summer but when the leaves fall you can catch some glimpses. There’s a gated path that’s completely overgrown, the mansion itself has broken windows, adjacent smaller buildings and hasn’t been occupied in years. It looks like something out of Resident Evil. What’s the back story of that building? Is there a local lore and does anybody know more about it?
Not open to public but don’t even try to Urbex it !
there’s still someone living in there from what i know (in a tiny part of it) it is accessed by a street in the buschland that goes past the scouts chalet and ends there.
there are rumours of it being haunted, but that’s most old buildings that look empty, haha.
and it has a lot of cameras so yeah, no urban exploration there.
It belongs to a rich arab family. Idk know why it’s abondoned though. This whole lot sure is worth a lot. There was a notice recently with some info on it. There’s always people breaking in.
On Instagram there seem to be some “people” who basically break into it every now and then. Surely not allowed
Maybe someone from the communal office in Remich could come here and explain the mystery
It’s an apparently abandoned château owned (formally?) by an Arab family. It was UrbEx’d in 2021 and then quickly identified, looted, and ruined.

If you Google the château’s name you can learn about its history.
Do not trespass and try to see it yourself. It’s watched, by neighbors and homeless squatters, both of which allegedly call the police.
