Considering we would be violating international law many times over with such a policy, it’s a wise move rejecting it
We should implement a law that if a person arrives on a flight or ship from another country and they magically don’t have the documents they departed the air or sea port on the other side with, the airline or ferry company who brought them is liable to pay for there entire stay in Ireland including the cost of any accommodation and legal fees.
They’ll be groups protesting at ports and airports soon.
It doesn’t matter if they come with a million euro in there back pocket , we simple don’t have the housing supply for the current population, even if we built at celtic tiger levels at 100k a year and stopped immigration completely, it would take 10+ years get enough housing , on average 50-60k people born here which means at a minimum you need around 30k a year if everyone was to couple up when they reach 30 and live together as a pair , add to that the back log of adults living at home with parents (arou d 500k) and can see this problem simply cannot be solved by building alone , we actually need people to leave and that will never happen unless we have a deep recession similar to 2008
A government’s job is to serve its people, serious disassociation or it’s just total corruption.
Whatever. Ireland is part of an EU framework by informal choice so The Country Wanker Party needs to understand and overturn that anyhou.
Whatever your views on this point, the rural TDs are holding the majority for the goverment and ignoring them like this will make this bastarisation of a goverment weaker, we eek closer and closer to a GE.
I can’t believe they’re going to continue down this path. Don’t understand how a government can disregard their own people so much.
