This is a picture of my pop, dated 1924.
He is Croatian, and I’m trying to learn more about him and my lineage , as he passed away before I was born.
Just wondering if anyone can recognize the uniform or can translate the writing to English?
Would be greatly appreciated

  1. It is highly unreadable and it’s on cyrillic so you might try Serbian subs as well.

What I managed to read is that it sent to Mr. Ivan (or Mrs. Ivana) Radovanović in Pupnat (Pupnat is a village on island Korčula and it is surname that can be found there).

In one part it’s written something like “Dear ???, I think about you and I am sending you many greetings.”In other part Novi Sad is mentioned (city in Serbia/Vojvodina) so it’s probably sent from there.

It’s 1924 so it’s not actually Yugoslavia but Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes (Yugoslavia since 1929), and it looks like army photo but I am not sure about that.
