The war on drugs is lost. This is a health issue and not a criminal one. Successive FG FF governments have ignored drug policy. Its unfortunate that their other failures have left this issue in the shadows.

Suppose it saves the government money funding rehang and health serviced for them I suppose
/s
Don’t worry, the government plans to bring in the MDP (Minimum Drug Pricing) which will up the drug prices and lower their purity. This will completely curtail the number of addicts.
As opposed to being so well looked after by a proactive government before lockdowns /s
Looking forward to the War with Drugs myself
Judges in this country need to be held accountable for their role in funding armed criminal gangs.
What if we brought in minimum heroin pricing, like €200 a gram?
The war on drugs is lost is a sour way of putting it.
Drugs won the war is better.
Downvotes incoming but… this is a bad thing? Its highly likely that you would never have a positive interaction with someone like that. At what point does it shift from being the governments fault to personal responsibility?
