Police consider investigation into Downing Street ‘bring your own booze’ lockdown party

  1. It’s kind of banana republic level stuff that the police will only enforce the law against the political opposition. If labour got in I wouldn’t blame them for launching at investigation into politicisation of the police and pursuing prosecutions of Cressida Dick for misconduct in public office.

  2. Watching Edward Argar (a tory health minister) trying to explain his party’s actions on BBC Breakfast right now.

Unfortunately it’s yet another display of a troy being pressed hard to show any regret or remorse, and they’re offering none. Just more political wiffle-waffle that evades every question posed.

The corruption of this government is through the roof, and the scariest part is tory voters probably aren’t batting an eye. The UK is doomed if the next general election doesn’t drastically change who’s in charge.

  3. Well according to the comment sections on all the local news sites every party is as bad as each other, Boris deserved to let his hair down, and at the time everyone in the country was having people over for parties 🙄

  4. The government’s paid thugs aren’t going to investigate the hand that feeds, and it’s fucking naive to think they ever would.

  5. Oh look, it’s this week’s Tory scandal. I’m sure the police will thoroughly investigate the matter (wink wink).

See you all soon for next week’s scandal!

  6. What really irks me is that the Police have obviously had their suspicions about the goverment for a while, regarding breaking rules, but they haven’t bothered, you know, actually starting an investigation of their own – instead waiting for some questionably motivated journalism to bring any alleged offences to light before announcing “considering an investigation”.

Now normally a police force “considers” an investigation if they are weighing up if there is enough evidence to make it stick in court, and if there is not, then it would not be in the publics interest to prosecute the case, but if certain things are ratified in this case, there is a very good burden of proof that the PM himself broke the law, and enabled others to do so.

If that isn’t worth investigating, I don’t know what is.

  7. Considering?
Do they not want an open and shut case? ‘Nah, it’s too easy, we prefer the difficult ones’

  8. The Tory response is obviously not to be honest about everything and suffer the consequences…but to wait to see how much the various Parliamentary/police investigations uncover and just ‘apologise’ for that.

  9. Basically I won’t confirm or deny if I was at this party – how slaughtered did Boris get at this party is my question if even he can’t remember and needs to launch an internal investigation!

  10. Now watch closely as fuck all happens and the MET say they won’t investigate this because it happened on a Wednesday.

  11. >*Sending an invitiation was not against the rules at the time. No witnesses have come forward to say that such party actually did take place, and so no further action will be taken.*
    >
    >- The Police

    End.

  12. Is there anyone relevant within the Police a person could conceivably write to in the vain attempt of impressing upon them the importance of actually fucking doing something about this?

I’ve got my local MP’s email which I’ve previous written to for such matters, but not sure if it was the PCC or something for police?

  13. They’re carefully selecting which one to investigate as the scapegoat to all, meanwhile Downing Street is carefully selecting what to leak so as to mislead and misguide.

What happened to the INDOOR lockdown party? Let’s focus on the OUTDOOR one with ‘Socially distanced’ in the email to make it look like the intentions were sound.
The INDOOR one with Bojo as quizmaster and Hancock with his hand up Gina’s skirt?

It’s so obvious how they’re working this it’s not even funny. Anyone who knows web marketing can see this a mile off.

  14. Don’t stress yourself out police, we know it’s a lot of work to actually be bothered to do your jobs for once

  15. George Carlin said it best

    >It’s a BIG CLUB…AND YOU AIN’T IN IT! You and I are not in the big club! By the way, it’s the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head. And their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy… The table is tilted. Folks. The game is rigged and nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. Good. Honest. Hard- working people. White collar. Blue collar. It doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on. Good, honest, hard-working people continue… these are people of modest means. Continue to elect these rich cocksuckers who don’t give a fuck about them. THEY DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOU! THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU. AT ALL. AT ALL. AT ALL!

  16. Civil servant investigating which means the PM himself will get to see and amend the report. But I really don’t think the public will swallow it this time.

  17. Why aren’t those who went to this party getting arrested and fined? The public got arrested and fined so explain why these Tory twats are exempt?

Most of us followed the rules that they put in place, yet they can do what they want. Time for those blind tory voters to realise that their Government is a piece of shit and shouldn’t vote for them again. No doubt though they will.

  18. This just in. Police cosider investivaging case that has already been proven by the public.

This is a surreal and coy version of 1984 if i ever saw one.

  19. We have mountains of evidence and some straight up proof that wrongdoing took place and that these people broke the very laws they were inflicting on other people and used the police to harrass citizens.

And the police are only *considering* an investigation? Useless bunch of corrupt shitbrains the whole force.

  20. This is why we need an external standards committee that assess rule breaking or manipulation and can enforce some type of sanction.

Its fucking disgusting what many politicians do on a day to day basis and there needs to be accountability and an outcome.

  21. Imagine the power the head of the Met police has by virtue of getting to ‘consider’ investigating the PM.

  22. they’re not going to do a thing, it’s never been more obvious that in the UK the function of the met is the protection of the ruling class

  23. I can save everyone the time and effort,

Boris lies, Tories lie, they had parties and gathering throughout the lock downs, they have never considered that any rules apply to them.

They could not give a single fuck what any member of the public think.

I feel really sorry for anyone who believes a single thing thing any member of the Tory party says, they have never and will never have anyone but their own self service at heart.

They think we are all easily manipulated eejits, for which we can hardly blame them for, as we allow their abuse, and never give them any real consequences.
