A few days ago after multiple surveys, the two possible concepts for the Euro bill redesign were chosen to be “European culture” and “Rivers and birds”. So most likely no people on the bill

Theme will be chosen in 2024. I think these are pretty good picks. The two blocks of public surveys were conducted by Ipsos and Verian (Kantar)

    > The three themes identified as most preferred in the Kantar Public survey are as follows:• “European culture” (preferred by 21% of euro area citizens)• “Rivers: the waters of life in Europe” (preferred by 18% of euro area citizens)• “Birds: free, resilient, inspiring” (preferred by 17% of euro area citizens)The remaining four themes are much less popular. Only 13% and 12% of euro area citizensrespectively say that they prefer the “European values mirrored in nature” and “Hands:together we build Europe” themes. Meanwhile, “The future is yours” and “Our Europe, ourselves” are the least preferred themes, with 10% and 9% of euro area citizens respectivelyrating them as their favourite option for the future euro banknotes.“European culture” is the leading theme in 12 out of 20 euro area countries, as well as inBulgaria. Specifically, it is the most preferred theme in six euro area countries and shares thetop spot with another theme in six countries, alongside either “Rivers: the waters of life inEurope” or “Birds: free, resilient, inspiring”.

  2. So completely devoid of any meaning. “Common values, inclusion, and dialogue”. “Symbolising freedom and unity”. This is so vague.

European isn’t a culture. It’s impossible to represent it. Ergo having to resort to vague values

  3. Well *European culture* and *Rivers and Birds* were themes where you could at least have a mental image of the possible banknotes. What am I supposed to imagine under *The future is yours* or *Our Europe, ourselves*?

It will be quite interesting how this process will go on further. The normal part of me would be happy with *Rivers and Birds*, but the part of me that wants to see the world burn is way more interested in *European culture*. Way more possibilities to enrage people…

  4. and i was so looking forward to my notes being covered in HANDS of various forms.

  5. Thank goodness no people. As if we were still in the Middle Ages (like the UK), idolizing celebrities (like Switzerland -f* Le Corbusier), or pathetically over-correcting history (like Canada). And I rather not tell you who was in the Spanish banknotes or the current world would burn in rage.

  6. Honestly who even asked for this. I like the current designs and the bills were just redesigned a few years ago. Kept the same images but spruced up the design a bit. I like how each country get to print their own coins so why change the bills

  7. Birds! We need birds on our notes.

Especially pet birds like cockatiels and lovebirds and budgies and macaws. Even caiques and lorikeets need representation, too.

  8. Looking forward to see a fat pigeon on the 20 note.

Or a skinny sickly looking pigeon on the fiver.
