  1. well there still is a good amount of criminals he has access to, the duma.

    And himself.

  2. Misread that as human waste. But that isn’t inaccurate. That’s what they’ll become when they get slaughtered and the Russian military is ordered to leave their bodies behind to rot.

  3. Bahahaha yes ruzzia keep up the human wave assaults, surely they will work this time around. Surely the ratio of causalities in favor of Ukraine wont go from 20 to 1 to an even higher number.

  4. That’s why Putin and a lot of russians aren’t worried about all those men being sent to the grinder. They are sending ethnic minorities and prisoners to die and I bet a lot of people love it.

  5. Future fertilizer. Bitch Putin keeps using the same failed tactics.

  6. Imagine if US did this. Probably have enough manpower to conqure the entire world

  7. Can’t wait for petrov the cannibal to somehow resist eating his own russian teammates

  8. It’s like Russia wacthed Futurama, saw Zapp Brannigan and thought “Let’s do that!”

  9. “and you get the death penalty, and YOU get the death penalty…” al a Oprah Winfrey

  10. Don’t forget behind them is the blocker troops that will shoot anyone who turns back.

It used to be the Chechens in the early part of the war.

Today it is the regular or contract troops.

    VDV/Contract soldiers-> Mobilized soldiers-> Storm Z

So the mobilized will shoot any Storm Z if they turn back and the VDV will shell mortars on the mobilized if they themselves retreat.

What a brilliant fuck fest morale encouragement on the battlefield.

  11. This makes some western analysts change the casualty numbers.

  12. soon (march 2024) election is coming, Putin needs something to brag with, so he will sacrifice 200 000 more if needed to get it done. No matter how good/brave Ukraine defenders are, sooner or later they wont be able to hold the lines against this Russian horde im afraid.

  13. Sounds like a lot buy that’s not even a decent cities sized amount of people. Half will be eliminated right away. Most will escape. And the rest will be forced into a defensive stance. 1000000 prisoners would be different. Thus just sucks to know 100000 people are being lined up to die.

  14. From Putin’s PoV, this is a pretty good strategy once you shed your humanity. Get dissidents and minorities who cause you trouble at home completely out of the way without explicitly killing them yourself (there’s really no difference, but the optics are a bit better at home).

Kind of a win/win for him. If those “soldiers” do nothing then you have less problems from them at home. If they do something, you get rid of them and achieve some objective/s in the war.

If the war is eventually lost in some way, there’s less people to handle at home. If the war is won, you sacrificed less “useful citizens” to do it. In a war of manpower, not technology, it’s easy to justify throwing away those who society doesn’t care about.

  15. A handful of cluster bombs will solve that problem.

  16. The penal battalions from Warhammer 40k were meant to be fiction, not inspiration.

Ukraine isn’t meant to solve their crime issue, but since they’re forced they’re making quick work of it.

Even with prison inmates there’s still corruption happening. ‘Inmate, sign here, fight 6 months and reclaim your freedom or die’ Inmate survives 6 months of dodging drone bombs, gets his freedom, returns home and has army officers waiting for him: ‘welcome home, time for your mobilisation’ (which I think would be worse, since there’s been soldiers in russia who haven’t been home in over a year because of rotation issues (uhum bribes).

As they’re burning through them rapidly they’ll look for other pools of recruitment aside from their own. Two things have already been documented

    – Migrant workers from countries like Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakstan are being rounded up from time to time to be coerced in the army. They are being told serving in the army is now a requirement to be allowed to work in russia

    – russia has been flying in asylum seekers from Africa and the Middle East and ship them to the border with Finland, Norway, Estonia and Latvia and Lithuania and Poland through Belarus. For obvious and logical reasons all countries bordering russia and Belarus have closed their checkpoints and thrown up actual barriers to keep them out. These asylum seekers are now left to their own survival and they will break when russia tells them to serve and gain citizenship. Aside from those there’s also evidence from recruitment in Cuba and Nepal.

  17. It’s like in 4x games. It’s always the less technically advanced that are the most aggressive.

  18. Russia has been throwing everything but the kitchen sink to avoid mobilizing people from major cities in a major way by relying on their professional military, volunteers, mercenaries and prisoners. They’ll have to touch the major cities in a significant way eventually.

  19. Saving money on the cost of incarceration while gettin cannon fodder.

  20. Hopefully some of them turn against the country that imprisoned them, overall not a great development for Ukraine.
