Am I being stupid here?

  1. Green bananas contain less sugar and are great for diabetics, athletes, or bodybuilders trying to cut.

  2. Being a bit first world problem.

Wait a day or two until they are exactly as your demand.

  3. Ohhhh them don’t look ripe in my world. So guess I’m in the STUPID team! 🍌

  4. These are about as “ripe and ready” as the avocados that surely should be used in Ukraine as artillery projectiles.

  5. Morrisons sent me bright green bananas. A week later and they were still green.

  6. They’re ready for something and it’s not for eating👀

  7. The problem with green bananas is, they taste like privets.

They’re not even quite ripe when they’re yellow.

  8. Short answer, 100% yes. But don’t let that stop you.

  9. I prefer green ‘underripe’ banana personally. Perfectly ripe yellow bananas are give or take. The moment they’re even slightly overripe I can’t stand them.

  10. Taking a picture of some fruit with the camera open on your other phone you mean?

  11. That is what happens when you buy tropical fruit in the winter

  12. Has anyone else noticed a weird trend that younger people eat greener bananas or is that just me? I’m of the firm opinion that they’re at the perfect ripeness when fully yellow and just about getting the very earliest tiny little brown speckles, and most of my peers seem to agree. Younger folks seem to go “there’s some yellow on, they’re ready”, or even just eat them green.

  13. Yeah – stupid for not putting them back on the shelf 😂

  14. Ripeness stage Appearance

barely ripe firm; pale yellow with light green at the top

ripe easily peel-able; medium-yellow, no (or few) brown spots

very ripe soft but not mushy; a mix of yellow with brown spots

overripe soft, mushy interior; highly spotted with brown or entirely brown

still green trade description, not ripe, not ready, refund

  15. they make you buy 5 now? what ever happened to just ripping off the bunch and buying by weight?

  16. Yes, it is stupid to paint your ripe bananas green

  17. It doesn’t specify when they would be ripe and ready, so seems fine to me.

  18. Not ripe and ready for eating but ripe and ready for other activities

  19. This is how my Mrs likes them… She said the label was correct…

  20. Morrisons also do Ripe At Home bananas.

I think some silly sausage has put the wrong label on them.

  21. I’ve noticed in the last couple of months that bananas have gone to shit across most supermarkets. I get that it’s winter and I shouldn’t necessarily expect ripe bananas year round, but I don’t remember it being this hard to find a decent bunch of ‘nanas in previous years!
