My parents still legit have my 5m somewhere
Every year my fellow non swimmers and I had to take part in the ‘splash race’ at the school gala. We had to walk the width of the pool in the shallow end.
That would be the 70s for me, we got patches to sew on our trunks, sadly no certificates.
I was most proud of the lifesaving award, the treading water at the deep end for 10 minutes bit was killer for me, I have the natural buoyancy of a house brick.
