Good. I was a little confused on his position when he quit his post as immigration minister out of the blue.
Thank you Robert for this much-needed clarification.
Apprently, the headbangers are considering a plot to replace Sunak with Johnson (despite him not being in parliament at the moment) or someone from Liz Truss’s government!
You would have to have a heart of stone, not to laugh!
Obviously. The only question now is whether Sunak will make it a confidence vote. If he does then it’ll pass with a handful of Tory votes against.
A broken clock is right twice a day. I agree with him that it will not work and legal challenges to sending anyone to Rwanda will follow.
Difference is that I would not be sending anyone there, because it is not a safe country and there is British territory instead, if you want to consider asylum claims not in the UK.
Good!
The entire Rwanda set up is a giant scam.
Every migrant sent to Rwanda, (they’ll only send 100) results in a Rwandan being sent to the UK in their place, and as a result it does NOTHING to reduce the appalling numbers entering our nation.
Plus, Rwanda had a 3 million soul genocide not two decades ago, so we are potentially risking sending genocidal war criminals here…
It’s abhorrent, and costing quarter of a billion too.
Anyone supporting it needs their head examining.
Can we just stop for a moment – How is this man even still a figure in British public life? He was caught *red-handed*, as full on and openly as its really possible to be, taking direct cash bribes for political favours that saved his benefactor tens of millions. He has never apologized for this, he has never been demoted to the back-benches, he has retained several senior government positions, regularly put forwards as the government rep on media appearances, and is now doing the media circuit again, just the other day there was an article calling him a *principled* politician.
What the fuck happened to this country? Not that long ago MPs acting a fraction as grossly as he has acted resulted in a *huge* national scandal that played out for months. With him its like no one really cares, or even remembers at this point?
Is the general public actually behind this?
I’m certainly not. We should have more referendums on stuff like this just like Switzerland ….
Isn’t this the same bloke that had paintings of Micky mouse removed from those barges because they were too welcoming for unaccompanied child migrants?
