Iron Age: How Wales was ruled from hillforts pre-Romans

  1. I hadn’t realised quite how many iron age hillforts there were in Wales.

    If you’re in North Wales I’d recommend a walk up to [Pen-y-Gaer hill fort](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pen_y_Gaer), along the Conwy valley (turn up the road next to Y Bedol pub). Even after all these centuries, it still has quite prominent remains of the walls, many stones put in place to defend against cavalry, the outline of many round houses, and of course, very beautiful views.
