  1. Great news. And we’ll get a new and improved conservative party led by a man named Keith by this time next year.

  2. The overton window seems to shift based on who is in power. We’re seeing the current labour party are not especially left wing in what they’re saying. I hope one thing that comes from a term or two of labour government is the narrative turning away from stop the boats, do more brexit, and trying to inflame culture wars.

There’s an impression here that if you want labour to beat the tories then you think they’re great and are 100% behind them. I’m certainly not, but it is indefensible to say they’re both the same

  3. Empires rise and fall all of the time but these would be astonishing numbers. How they rebuild – and in what form – will be interesting. The GOP in the US is not your father’s Republican party and will the 2024+ Tories tread the same path? Or will they tack leftward? It looks like the former but will there be a sufficient constituency in the electorate from which they can draw support? I’m not convinced.

If these numbers hold up it will be 9-10 years before the Tories are electoral contenders again (barring a Labour catastrophe). What will they look like in 2033/34?

  4. I think it will be a bit closer than the current polls predict. Polls always narrow as the election looms and people make their decisions. I suspect a narrow Labour majority of 20

  5. hahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahahhaha merry christmad

  6. I would like a narrow vote for Labour.

Why? Kier is timid and beholden to Murdoch. He should be smashing the mold. He should be reforming the electoral system; he should be calling the Torys out on every evil move they make. Every populist move. Does he, nah? He is a coward.

Here is what will happen. Labour will win. The Tories will announce they were not Tory enough and lurch even further to the right than Cruella Braverman, and win eventually.

Sunak should accept that the ship is sinking, and skuttle it just after he expells every Brexit/Boats/Scrounger Tory.

  7. Yeah, that tends to happen when you stab each other so many times that all of you are more void then meat.

  8. Only if Starmer can actually enthuse people to vote for his party, which I doubt.

  9. It’s not gonna happen because the English are servants in their core.

  10. I think they will do better than labour did in 2019 (202 seats) under Corbyn.

  11. Wouldn’t it be great if they didn’t make the top 2 parties and weren’t even involved in the shadow cabinet
