I got this letter but im a 20yr old student who lives at home. I work a side job now and then but not enough to work more then 400hrs, i looked at myMinFin but it indeed just says 0,0eur like expected. Why do i get this letter but other people my age dont?

  1. Maybe other people your age received a proposition, or they filed their taxes with tax on web.

Just file your taxes using tax on web and you’ll be fine.

  2. But did you read the letter?

Did you do what the letter said?

Did you spend 5 min on google to find out why you got the letter? Or before that, to see if you needed to do something to not receive such a letter?

Did you look up stuff before working as a student like what your rights and duties are?

Did you read this very conchise and clear advice: >Ja, een belastingaangifte is verplicht, ook voor jobstudenten. Ook al blijven je inkomsten ruim onder het bedrag waarbij je wordt belast, je moet toch je belastingaangifte indienen.

  3. Every adult has to file taxes. Even in your taxable income is 0. I’m gonna assume previous years you had a voorstel tot aangifte and didn’t have to do anything. This year you’ll probably have to confirm the voorstel on tax on web.

just log in and file them.

  4. You’re an adult. Try to understand how taxes work, it’s useful knowledge.

  5. Just ignore it, trow it away, or burn it, or wipe youre bottom with it…
And let us know afterwards how much you must pay.

  6. You probably have an account with some foreign brokerage app or revolut, or you’ve done some deliveroo-ish jobs that require you to submit a declaration yourself (even if it’s not enough to be taxable). Call 02 572 57 57 with direct code 17001 tomorrow between 9 and 17 and we can tell you.

  7. 1/ You have to submit it

2/ Most people who haven’t worked should have gotten a simplified proposal, which means they calculated it all for you. Regardless of whether this is fake or not, in both cases you should just go have a look at MyMinFin.be

Go to the website. Log in. Read what it says.

If you’ve never logged in before, it should just be logging in with your ID card. If you don’t have a card reader for your ID card, get one, you can buy it almost everywhere.

    The steps are clearly explained.
