What’s your favourite crap Christmas decoration on your tree? I’ve got a soft spot for our Christmas sprout.

  1. Aww, that’s quite sweet actually!

My Christmas tree decorations are mostly vintage baubles from the 1960s to the 1980s, but I haven’t bothered with the tree in the flat this year because I’m in mum’s over Christmas. She’s got a reindeer and snowman tree decorations made from corks (which are extremely crap) but I put the tree up in hers this year so they stayed in the box!

  2. I don’t have a photo, but my favourite is the pearl-encrusted lobster I bought a few years ago from Paperchase. Her name is Jemima the Christmas Lobster.

  3. Adorable! Hoping Google can tell me where to get one for my sister in law who dearly loves sprouts (the rest of us can not eat them)

I’ve got a number of crappy but beloved ones we handmade as kids in the 1970s that still go on the tree. A foam ball with toothpicks in, covered in glitter, is my favourite.

  4. I have a mini cheeseboard ornament that was in the Paperchase sale a few years ago.

The best crap one is a homemade “John McClane crawling through the air duct” that I copied off Pinterest in 2020. He has pride of place.

  5. My 1980s McDonald’s bauble that I got in a happy meal

  6. My hand made ( not by me) needle felt piggie fairy in a white tutu, silver crown & wand with wings – she’s very cute. Also another felt ornament – a space mouse in a silver suit complete with space bubble helmet.

  7. I have sprout earrings that I hang on the tree when I am not wearing them

  8. I’ve got a Christmas dentist holding a set of pulled out teeth on a plate.

  9. [Two little knitted naked men](https://imgur.com/a/xiHKKY5) who were loosely based on the “Hi Stranger” stop-motion animation by Kirsten Lepore. I have two Christmas trees with one knitted man on each, and they change position every day.

  10. I really like my rhinoceros. It’s so random it always makes me grin.

  11. I’ve got a Ron Weasey toy figure that I put on the tree every year since HP 2 film came out. I bought him on impulse and when my mum said I’d wasted money as I was too old for such toys I jokingly declared him a tree decoration. He is on his 21 year of being on the tree.

  12. I have a bespoke, vintage, hand crafted angel on the top of the tree (read: angel I made in nursery 25 years ago when I was about 5). It annoys my wife so much.

  13. Not crap, but my needle felted wool blue whale with his mouth full of mistletoe. Also the skiing cow.

  14. It’s not Christmas without a Christmas sprout . My sprout has legs 😊

  15. I love this little guy so much that I just went on eBay and ordered my own 🥹

  16. I bought a couple of flying sheep tree decorations about 15 years ago which I am rather fond of … unfortunately their legs have started to gradually fall off one by one recently…
