Boris Johnson must resign if he broke lockdown rules, says Scottish Conservatives leader

  1. I hate that cunt so much I don’t even see him as human anymore. He’s ruined peoples lives, persistently lied and is that disgusting he induced his wife’s labour early by 6 weeks so he can escape the media for a while

  2. It’s the Trump / Berlusconi / Farage approach. Make the next thing a big big thing then the last big thing won’t be an issue and eventually it’s just noise. Meanwhile let an underling fall on your sword. And repeat.

  3. Watch for the walking back from this and an abject humiliating climb down by Ross if this ever does get proven.

This is a signature move for Scottish Tory leaders. Ruth Davidson and Mundell were past masters at it. It’s an attempt to temporarily distance himself from Boris and stop haemorrhaging what few votes they have left up here. But he has no intention of actually doing anything – it’s just a little ritual they go through. He’ll wind his neck in the second head office in London tells him to, though I’ll bet Ross is really banking on it either never getting proven beyond all doubt – or the scandal if proof is found will be so large the attention will be off what he said.

And the media barely ever call them out on it (with the honourable exception Channel 4 news).

  4. Bojo strikes me as being too much of an egomaniac to be happy about being booted out by the Tories, he won’t like losing a general election either and he won’t do the honourable thing and step down (which he should have done already).

Cyncially I think this is being offered as a way for him to save face, the enquiry finds that rules were broken, he resigns claiming to have done the honourable thing whilst also protesting that he did nothing wrong.

  5. lol DRoss as a junior minister in the Scotland office at the time probably got the invite – he’s full of shit.

Also there are no Scottish Conservatives, there are Conservatives in Scotland.

  6. He really doesn’t want to resign does he? I feel like if this was May or Cameron or whoever they would’ve jumped in fear by now.

  7. [Boris, 4 days after this party](https://youtu.be/tlc1rWg73MU?t=2):

“I want to begin by answering the big question that people have been asking in the last 48 hours. And that is – is this Government asking you – the people, the public, to do one thing while senior people here in government do something else? Have we been asking you to make sacrifices, to obey social distancing, to stay at home while some people have been basically flouting those rules and endangering lives? And it is because I take this matter so seriously and frankly it is so serious that I can tell you today I have had extensive face to face conversations with Dominic Cummings”

    He is unbelievable.
