My wife got me this as a present. She wasn’t sure what it was. Is this literally just bricks of sugar? Any special way to use it?

It’s a tablet of glucose. You can use it during a workout.
It’s how you call sugar nicely.
Its a “traditional” sweet from back in the day when our options were limited. Its more of a meme but it has a very distinct taste that you’ll forever remember (IF its still the same, havent tasted one in 20 years 😭)
Short deff: Sugar is a broad term for sweet, soluble carbohydrates, while glucose is a specific type of sugar and the primary source of energy for cells.
Me, as a diabetic, always carry a few squares of this kind of glucose with me. If I’m in trouble and getting into a hypoglycemia state(too much insulin and very low blood sugar in my body), I eat a couple of them instead of sugar as glucose acts faster than standard sugar.
When you eat standard sugar, during digestion it gets broken down into glucose and fructose sugars which the body cells can use . If you go to the gym, you could use this glucose as an energy boost.
Why does it say glucose? Is that pure glucose?
It’s great.
“Sursă de energie” means “source of energy”. People mostly use it when they go on hikes or do other demanding physical activities. I sometimes buy it as a snack (but it takes me several weeks to finish it).
