  1. The laws and monopolisation of media make it almost impossible to have real journalism in Ireland

  2. I think people should be free to sue newspapers, but if they lose the paper should be able to go to town on them.

    There needs to be consequences for both sides. Powerful people shouldn’t be able to shut down journalists, but at the same time you don’t want the kind of bollockology they have in the states where news groups are closely aligned to parties and can say whatever insane nonsense they want

  3. Article is paywalled, but that’s a huge % if you consider how many journalists would be covering ‘softer’ topics like sports or entertainment.
