The fact that Cameron is a fucking Lord tells you everything about this country.
I just find it ironic that Yousaf choses to meet with Europe’s most repressive dictator, a man who has imprisoned hundreds of thousands on trumped-up charges, who has closed down all independent media in Turkey, and who heads a regime (and a country) with an obsession to oppress even the tiniest bit of regional autonomy or cultural expression by non-ethnic Turks.
In Turkey you can even be arrested as a terrorist for possessing historical maps showing the provinces of the Roman Empire (because they show internal divisions and bordering countries – particularly the Kingdom of Armenia – within what is now Turkish territory, such maps are considered documents intended to divide the unity of the state). It would be the equivalent of being arrested in England for possessing a 17thC map by Ortelius, Blaeu, or Sanson showing the Kingdom of Scotland. But it is good to know where closet Islamofascist Yousaf’s real priorities regarding independence are.
“Petty” procedures not followed… again…
I’m sure Yousaf would be just as dismissive against oversteps in devolution competence if they were against the SG rather than committed by them.
I would say that banging on about a “ceasefire” in one particular conflict you can’t control but totally forgetting to bring up the Turkish actions against the Kurds in a meeting with the only fucking person who can actually put a stop to it is worse than being petty
