Lauterbrunnen. I had a great night there a few years ago getting drunk in the hotel Horner pub while playing chess with some Germans.
You get the same views in alp part of austria, slovenia, italy.
Beautiful country side, beautiful mountain ranges, beautiful cities but ugly people 😂 can’t have it all

I didn’t visit Yosemite, but I visited the Canadian Rockies (Banff & Jasper).
The difference is not really the scenery, there is stunning stuff on both sides. But what you have in North American that we don’t in Europe is unparalleled wilderness. Seeing bears, packs of wolves or moose roaming around is really an amazing experience.
But I can see why a village like this would be an incredible sight from a North American POV!
you gotta love geology and time. Yosemite is 40-60 million years older than the Alps. Alps is a baby just like the Himalayas, and they are still growing. One day, the Alps will be the tallest peak on the planet. They will only reach their maximum when finally Africa and Europe become one massive continent. None of us will be here to see it, just like the Mediterranean, we will be long gone.

Man, some parts of Switzerland are straight out of a farytale.
As we drove through the mountains in Switzerland we kept commenting, “That is the most beautiful scene I have ever seen (in unison). It got where we just laughed as we turned another bend.
Well, seems the guy deleted the account after posting some obviously incorrect BS in the discussion and being called out for it.
You certainly can think Switzerland is nicer than Yosemite – beauty is subjective, and there is room for many opinions.
But, no Yosemite does not have a serious air pollution problem, and Los Angeles is not overrun with bears, etc, etc and I’d be cautious about anything else OP was saying.
