The idea that a president would be immune from laws is downright laughable. You may as well declare america a dictatorship at that point. No serious person would ever support such a blatantly undemocratic idea. They should reject this case with swiftness

What’s the logic here?? If a president has blanket immunity, what is the impeachment process for? How does someone with immunity commit the requisite “high crimes and misdemeanors” necessary to warrant impeachment in the first place? The Constitution has a process and penalty for doing something it’s impossible to do??
Simple way to scare off the cult from supporting this. “If President’s are immune from prosecution, that means Biden can do whatever he wants too. Hope you enjoy your forced gender reassignment”

The best argument against this I heard on TV was:
*If he were immune, then the Vice President could shoot the President dead, become President, and be immune.*
If the SC grants immunity, they will have essentially dissolved themselves by elevating the president above all three branches. If that happens, a president has no use for a SC.
Let’s imagine that the SCOTUS takes this up and decides that Presidents are above the law and cannot be charged with crimes committed while in office – and that the only remedy for a criminal President is impeachment. I mean, I imagine the SCOTUS will rule 9-0 on it, but let’s assume they don’t.
So, Biden could disappear Trump into a black site prison and declare himself president for life and it wouldn’t be illegal because they couldn’t remove him without the super majority in the senate. Maybe he has all the justices jailed who he doesn’t like and appoints new ones. Assassinate his political opponents. Pardon anybody who does his dirty work. Or whatever.
It would be the SCOTUS declaring the USA a dictatorship. And Biden would have to undertake those sorts of actions because if he ever relinquished power – is there any doubt that the Republicans wouldn’t immediately take advantages of the divine right monarchy that was established by the high court and do even worse? They’ve even SAID they would.
