  1. >According to the German government, at the end of November there were around 3,000 Afghans in Pakistan who had been accepted under the relocation schemes but were still waiting to be brought to Germany. A further 300 Afghans were stranded in Iran and more than 8,000 in Afghanistan, bringing the total due to be relocated to Germany to 11,500.

    Madness

  2. This really does seem like the dumbest possible move for a European country to make when the rightwing is ascendant based almost exclusively on anti-mass migration sentiment.

  3. There are also about one and a half billion Indians and about the same number of Chinese. Germany, don’t get too hung up on the Afghans! You can!

  4. At this point I believe Croatia should suspend Schengen. No country which lets in people from these countries like this should be borderless with Croatia. We need to protect ourselves.

  5. ???? why? is there some money to be made somehow or is Germany doing this out of the goodness of their hearts?

  6. # he Federal Admission Program and the relocation scheme for Afghans who worked for the German military (Bundeswehr)

Calm down people. These are humans who aided our military which we then left to fend for themselves. Relocating them to germany is a moral imperative

  7. Wow. People here don’t seem to be aware that those are human beings. F your AFD fears.

  8. Pakistan is expelling them because they cause security problems even if they are all muslims.

Great idea to welcome them here , there’s never enough…

  9. They better advertise everywhere that these are people who worked and helped the Germany and aren’t just random Afghans.
And they also better do everything in their power to integrate them well because this shit is pure fuel for pushing voters to the right.

  10. Lol what? Germany is like a person doing self harm, but can’t stop.

  11. Ok I get that immigration from muslim countries is terrible and destroying europe in multiple aspects, but this here is the one for people who actively helped Budeswehr and ABSOLUTELY deserve to come. It’s the exact opposite of the ones we don’t want, so maybe read the article and calm down a little.

  12. This sub is filled with islamophobes, they started attacking it without even reading the article.

German govt promised them refugee in exchange for their help against Taliban.

After US and allied forces withdrew they escaped to Pakistan, they are now being sent back to Afghanistan. How would Taliban react do you think?

If you abandon people after promising them safety in exchange for their work, what do you think will happen when you’re in a conflict zone next time.

  13. Sometimes i really wonder if our current government secretly wants the AfD to win the next elections

  14. For god’s sake this sub likes to jump at the mention of the word “immigrant”

These are people who were left behind, had worked with ISAF before, and were determined to be threatened by retribution from the Taliban.

Whether you like it or not, these people were our allies, and we have a responsibility to protect them. We can’t leave them to die at the hands of barbarians.

  15. Wrong direction Germany.

    Can’t you do anything right?

  16. Sounds more like a scheme dedicated to letting people that helped the Bundeswehr in Afghanistan between 2001-2021, which I do fully support considering the risk these people took when cooperating with our troops. Its a shame that it takes so long to get these people to safety.

  17. People who are at risk because they served European militaries absolutely have a right to safe sanctuary in those countries – anything else would be a disgrace. The UK could take a leaf out of Germany’s book here.

  18. A lot of Brits in the comments not realising the UK is doing the same!

  19. Why?

Let Muslim countries take care of their own.

We should be deporting these people, not taking in more.

  20. Biggest threat to Europe is some of the people in the comments.
