**match updates:**
1′ – kickoff, vamos!
3′ – Juvenil A are already qualified for the round of 16, but a win is needed to make sure we finish the group in first place, as Braga will surely win against the much weaker Napoli later today
⚽ 4′ – GOLLLLLL DEL JUVENIL A – Yusi lunges forward with big steps on the left after an early recovery by the team, he plays it towards the edge of the box to Iker Bravo, who takes a touch and finishes it nicely into the bottom right corner with the outside of the boot – he runs straight towards Arbeloa to give him a big hug
20′ – Palacios is through on goal after squeezing through between to opposing defenders, but his shot from a tight angle is saved by the keeper
24′ – corner towards the near post by Cristián David, de Llanos shoots directly, but a great save from Union’s keeper denies him
43′ – terrible back pass from Iker Bravo to his keeper, Álvaro hesitates to go for the ball and instead decides to try and stop the attacker’s shot, and succeeds in doing so
HT – good start with high energy from the team, who could’ve scored more than once to calm the match down in the first 30 minutes – since then Union were superior physically, and entered our box in dangerous positions in multiple occasions
46′ – second half underway
47′ – how is that not the equaliser, Asanji is right in front of our goal, tries to round Álvaro but he manages to still save the shot – the rebound falls to another Union attacker, who shots in to the almost empty net, but manages to hit Manuel Ángel, who can clear the ball off the line
49′ – clear foul on Manuel Ángel in the box, he gets stomped on the ankle and the penalty couldn’t be any more obvious, but instead of giving the pen, the referee gives Mami a yellow card for a dive – just, wow
57′ – the shot by de Llanos from a tight angle is just wide, after a long possession play from the team
⚽ 61′ – GOLLLLLL DEL JUVENIL A – Fortea is breaking his opponents ankles on the right wing, finally whips the cross towards the penalty spot, where Iker Bravo volleys it directly into the bottom left corner for a brace!
🔄 66′ – first sub, Chema on for Mesonero
72′ – another possible penalty not given after Iker Bravo is brought down in the box
73′ – Union using their third substitution window for a double substitution after yet another injury, they already used two subs in the first half due to injuries, that’s rough
77′ – around 20.700 spectators announced in the stadium, all time record in UEFA Youth League
🔄 78′ – more subs by Arbeloa, Manuel Ángel and de Llanos off for Pol Durán and Dani Yáñez
82′ – counter attack by Real Madrid, Palacios is almost though in the box and waits for Iker Bravo to join him, he receives the ball and puts it through, straight back to Palacios, but his first touch is slightly heavy and the keeper can save his lobbed shot
🔄 83′ – last sub: Paulo Iago on for César Palacios
FT – deserved win for Juvenil A after a composed second half for the most part – Union had the massive chance to equalise just after half time but failed to capitalise, after that our team finished the match in a calm and mature way, scoring the second goal in the process. We now sit in first place with a goal difference of +13. Braga play Napoli in an hour, and would have to score at least 8 goals to still push us off first place
