Novak Đoković: The amazing tale of a test certificate and the Unix timestamp that traveled through time.

  1. >But something is wrong with Đoković positive PCR test result: the test ID of the positive test (7371999) from Dec. 16 is larger than that of the negative test from Dec. 22 (7320919). The test that was supposedly performed earlier was therefore entered into the system later. 🤔

    Indeed.

  2. Are you telling me that a country known for bribes, public sector corruption with easy access to manipulation and falsification of paperwork to ordinary citizens, might have falsified top profile players document.

I’m a fan of Djokovic but he’s an asshole. It’s more likely he did not test positive on 16th and was just granted the paperwork. I mean in Serbia this would be easy for normal citizen to get let alone Djokovic. Which is why he was able to travel, to Spain among other places.

How did he travel to Spain with a positive PCR test, I would go ask Spain about the proof he provided. I bet it was a negative PCR test.

  3. It seems that the time stamp issue is not relevant to this issue. It’s more about the confirmation code and the sudden switch from negative to positive.

  4. Makes me think the Rio Tinto back story could be more than just a tin foil hat conspiracy, because anyone with an ounce of digging can see he should have been kicked out if it was based on his visa alone.

  5. Well, looks like quarantine might become the least of Djokovic’s problems. I doubt falsifying a covid test is treated lightly in Australia.

  6. Why any of that even matter?

What really matters if he was Covid positive or negative on entry to Australia (5th of January). Is he currently sick, is he infectious? Everything else is just bullshit.

I respect that Australia is trying to protect its citizens. Yet, if the hosting country of a grand slam tournament cannot guarantee participation of covid negative tennis player it shouldn’t be hosting one. I am sure other countries would gladly take the burden off Australia’s shoulders and host this prestigious competition.

Covid negative non-vaxed players and players who are inoculated with the “wrong” kind of vaccine (Sputnik) should be able to compete. Otherwise, it just reeks of discrimination and politics.

  7. Djokovic’s father compared him to Jesus.

Now I’m not a theologian, but I’m pretty sure Jesus did not get a note from his doctor stating he can’t be crucified because he’s a vip.

  8. Lmao. Test numbers are randomized. Bit nice try of a country that turned itself into Auschwitz with “work sets you free” motto.

  9. At the bottom of the blogpost, there’s an update:

    > On HackerNews someone gave a plausible explanation for the timestamps: They are regenerated when you download the PDF with the result.

    > This explains the inconsistencies in the timestamps – but not in the confirmation codes – because they remain the same.

    > And the inconsistencies also exists in them. The confirmation codes are ascending, so the result from the 16th should have a lower number than the one from 22nd. However, it is the other way around.

So while the timestamps may be a red herring, the confirmation numbers are still possibly suspect.

    Still a weird situation.
