Someone’s trying to get himself some popular street cred before the stilettos are drawn.
Either way this is a good thing. They should be made to pay a lot more towards this sort of work and just general infrastructure.
>Labour’s Lisa Nandy, shadow secretary of state for levelling up, housing and communities, was not entirely convinced. Gove’s reputation for unctuousness – he’s the master of sincere insincerity – and telling people what they wanted to hear preceded him and she just wanted to check one or two details. The chances of the greedy developers agreeing to cough up speedily were about nil, she reckoned.
Wonder how many were fool enough to believe Govester had this all sorted, yesterday. He is going to ask developers to pay for a direct consequence of previous Conservative Party policy of getting rid of red tape. The Developers’ lawyers be scratching their heads.
Are his cunt friends in the Tory party planning on giving back the donations made by their greedy developers mates? No? Then Gove should shut his fucking mouth and stop posturing for Johnsons job by pretending he gives a fuck about dead plebs and their substandard living conditions.
As always, the devil is in the detail:
>”We will also ensure that those who profited and continue to profit from the sale of unsafe buildings and construction products must take full responsibility for their actions and pay to put things right.
“Those who knowingly put lives at risk should be held to account for their crimes, and those who are seeking to profit from the crisis by making it worse should be stopped from doing so. Today I am putting them on notice.

>”To those who missold dangerous products like cladding or insulation, to those who cut corners to save cash as they developed or refurbished people’s homes, and to those who sought to profiteer from the consequences of the Grenfell tragedy – we are coming for you.”profiteer from the consequences of the Grenfell tragedy – we are coming for you.”

The problem is that pretty much everything these developers did was legal and within regulations at the time because the government didnt give a fuck as long as the donations rolled in.
Its why its been so hard to redress this. Its like allowing car companies to sell vehicles without seatbelts and then going after them for selling cars without seatbelts.
In the past 2 years, he is the one sitting member of government who has sat in the background through this shitshow – other than a few meme-worthy moments – and despite being a prominent MP. He’s gonna separate himself from the reputation of Boris’ government.
Crafty. I recall my mother raging about a local MP over a decade ago. He’d claimed expenses on decorating his house via a firm owned by the mother-in-law of PM David Cameron. Look at Gove now.
Make them. The developers will find a way to weasel out of paying the full amount or anything at all, their legal teams are probably working overtime on that right now. Relying on good faith from companies that have spent years not paying for basic fire safety, expecting residents to pay tens of thousands for repairs instead, is obviously going to end in disappointment.
Nandy tore apart his nonsensical ideas like cheap cladding.
You mean the same greedy developers that fund your party so they can carry on being greedy developers?
I bet they fucking don’t…
In fact I garatuee that not one developer will pay so much as 1p in the next 12 months.
Its all bluster and bullshit to get people to think he is one of the good guys in time for when Boris is kicked out.
I’ll believe it when i see it. Until then, fuck off.
