Covid: Minister understands ‘why people are angry’ about latest Downing Street party allegation that PM and wife attended lockdown gathering

1. What I don’t understand is all these Tories and Tory supporters coming out NOW and saying it’s indefensible, they’re shocked at this revelation. 100 people were invited to that party and you’re telling me the likes of Sarah Vine and Edward Argar only heard about it yesterday?

2. They understand but they don’t care. People stopped socialising, for the most part, for the better part of two years, including Christmas 2020, because the government told them to do so. They did it because it was the right thing to do and to help reduce the demand on an already overstretched NHS. Those who told them to do so then went and did the each opposite with reckless abandon. People somehow forgive selling weapons to Middle Eastern dictators and the continued maltreatment of people receiving UC; there will be a lot of people who will never forgive the government for this though. That is something the Tories seem unlikely to ever understand.

3. I love how they always wheel out a total no-mark when they’re in trouble. Who the fuck is Edward Argar and why aren’t we getting to hear from any of the actual leadership?
