> It has to happen eventually. Covid won’t go away, the huge majority of vaccinated people aren’t hospitalized when they contact Covid (a tiny minority is, nothing can be done about it).
> The only reason we STILL treat it differently is because the unvaccinated clog the hospitals. Even if a country has only 4-5% unvaccinated (most countries have WAY more), they will clog the hospitals for years, because no country has a number of ICUs larger than ~0.01% of the population.
> So either we have measures for years (not acceptable) or we drop the measures and either accept clogged hospitals or restrict the access of the unvaccinated to public/free healthcare.
> There’s not gonna be a magic cure, the virus won’t go away, the cases won’t vanish. Someone’s rights will get supressed to return to normalcy, and I’d rather it’s the unvaccinated people’s rights than all of us (with constant measures and restrictions).
Here in th uk, compared to last year at least, the virus seems endemic. Everyone seems to be getting it at some point, yet im posting this comment while sat in a pub (table service only)
Spain: It’s not the same as Europe.
It’s different in Germany. Go and read the news. Wear your FFP2 masks, distance and get VACCINATED. Sry, i had to shout.
#TOO SOON
The UK will be the first country to do so – or at least England. Already there are almost no restrictions in England – essentially just face masks, and even that law will expire on 26 Jan.
Other countries like France and Italy? I don’t expect them to return to normal for a long time.
About time
Finally, hope we can do it
Took them long enough
(Before attacking me, consider this: I’ve been triple vaccinated already)
I just don’t see the need to treat it anymore as something special. Everyone has had the chance to vaccinate himself and his family. If some antivaxxer dies, well, sorry
It isn’t really. This article is political propaganda. The US Democrats have decided, (after having worse number than Trump in covid) to tell their ~~sheeple~~ voters that they need to start normalizing Covid as another flu. Telling them that “your beloved socialist europe did it first” is meant to be used as an excuse.
The US midterm elections are in 2022. The media need to downplay covid to prevent it from becoming a talking point. Expect more articles like this from the democrat-controlling media.
Tanking it like big boys?
Wonderful!
It only took almost everyone high risk of it (very old people and people with diabetes, or morbidly obese, etc) to die from it, while everyone else was forced to isolate. Except for critical workers obviously. And the global economy was destroyed.
Perfectly managed!
Should have done that as soon as the vast majority of people got jabbed.
